According to the website hunterwholesale.net, Missouri is the 4th best state in the country for Turkey Hunting. Missouri ranks fourth behind only Ohio in 1st, followed by, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. What about Missouri makes it a destination for Turkey hunters? On the site they say...

"The population is large, and the terrain is varied, making it easy to find good hunting spots. The Ozarks offer a challenge for hunters, with their steep hills and thick forests. The plains are also home to a large population of turkeys, and the open terrain makes it easy to spot the birds...Missouri has many public hunting areas, which provide access to a variety of different habitats."

I have never been on a turkey hunt or killed a turkey, in fact, I have never hunted anything. But I will say, it has to be very gratifying to go and kill the bird that you will then feed to your family on Thanksgiving. If I was to ever go hunting I firmly believe that Turkey hunting is where I would want to start, and there is no better place for that than Missouri.
