
Missouri Has 5 Players in MLS and They are All from One Area
The MLS campaign is underway for 2025, and with two pro teams in the Show-Me State I decided to find out how many MLS players on rosters are from Missouri. Turns out they are all from one place. St. Louis.
Kansas City like to claim the banner of “Soccer Capital of America”. It’s not even the soccer capital of Missouri.
There are four players from Missouri on 2025 MLS senior rosters. They are all from the St. Louis metro area.
The long time team USA defender and veteran of English Premier football at Fulham FC, Ream is back in the states, and the St. Dominic High grad is playing for Charlotte FC this season.
Tom Barlow – F- Chicago Fire FC
Barlow begins his second season in Chicago after several years with the New York Red Bulls. The Chaminade grad has 16 MLS goals in his career.
Patrick Schulte – G- Columbus Crew
The Francis Howell product won an MLS Cup with Columbus in 2023 and has suited up 3 times so far for the US National Team.
Willis was drafted by DC United in 2011. He spent 5 years in Houston with the Dynamo between 2015 and 2019 helping the team win the US Open Cup in 2018. 2020 saw Willis get traded to Nashville SC and the Chaminade grad continues his career in Music City.

Missouri has a rich soccer tradition and history. Several women from Missouri are playing professionally in the NWSL. Their season starts in mid-March. We’ll check on those players from the Show-Me state soon.
