Missouri Department of Transportation Warns About Online Scam
The Missouri Department of Transportation is warning residents about an online scam they have been made aware of.
Posted on MoDOT's Facebook page, they want to warn Missouri residents of an online scam. People are posing as MoDOT's representatives attempting to collect tolls.
Here's the kicker...
There are NO TOLL BRIDGES IN MISSOURI.

MoDOT also went on to say that they will never solicit you to pay a toll fee. As with other scam calls, text, messages, and emails, do not click on any link given. Delete the message, don't answer the phone, and whatever you do DO NOT give out any of your personal information.
I have received the toll fee text and a few things stood out for me. It came from a foreign number (+ 65 5678 2254) and the urgency of their wanting payment. If you are feeling an urgency to pay anything, don't. Scamemrs use fear to trap their victims.
More over than none if you have a toll payment due you will receive a letter in the mail to pay your fine.
Also, if you receive a message from a scammer and are unsure, call MoDOT and verify the information. They will usually be able to help determine if it's fake or real. In this case it's a fake text, message, and call. So just delete everything and don't send anything you are not 100% sure of.
