As we inch closer to the holiday shopping season, a well-known toy store has announced its holiday pop-up locations for 2025.

Toys “R” Us Holiday Pop-Ups Return in 2025

I remember as a kid going to Toys “R” Us and getting literally lost for hours among the Cabbage Patch Kids, Rainbow Brite dolls, and Nintendo games. (Don’t worry — my parents were there.) I never wanted to grow up; I just wanted to stay a kid forever. But like most dreams, that one was short-lived, and eventually, even Toys “R” Us came to an end.

The beloved toy store filed for bankruptcy in 2017, but since then, it has been slowly making a comeback. While the new locations may not be open year-round and are mainly in major cities and shopping centers, they’ll be popping up now through the end of the year.

Where to Find Toys “R” Us in Illinois

Toys “R” Us will be returning to Illinois with one pop-up location at the Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora, which is now open to the public. I know it’s not the closest location to us, but if you find yourself doing some shopping in the Chicago area, this could be a fun stop to add to your holiday shopping trip.

It’s not quite the same as it was when I was growing up. Toys were made differently back then, and honestly, they just felt more fun to play with. Plus, the atmosphere inside Toys “R” Us had that special magic that made every visit feel exciting. Still, it’s nice to see the chain making a comeback, even if it’s just for a few weeks during the holiday season.
