There is no greater love than being willing to sacrifice your life for others. One Midwest man lived that principle as he saved 6 people including 4 children from a home on fire while suffering serious injuries to himself.

Patch shared the story of Nick Bostic of Lafayette, Indiana who is being hailed as a hero after he rescued 6 people from a burning home. The Lafayette, Indiana police honored Nick on Twitter telling his heroic story.

They report that on July 11 at approximately 12:30am, they arrived on the scene of a house fire. Officers learned that there was a 6-year-old child still remaining in the home which was fully-engulfed in flames. It was then that 25-year-old Nick Bostic rushed into the home searching for the child. When he found her, he put her in his arms, punched out an upstairs window and leaped out of the home landing in such a way where he absorbed the energy of the fall on the side where he wasn't holding the child. The child was fine, but Nick suffered serious injuries including smoke inhalation and a severe cut on his arm.

Lafayette, Indiana police are honoring Nick as he recovers from his injuries with a special event on August 2 to try and help him with his medical expenses. According to Patch, over a half million dollars has been raised through a GoFundMe page on Nick's behalf.
