Today is just another day.

For the most part, life here in the U.S. seems to be going on, uninterrupted. Another work day completed, getting closer to the weekend.

One year ago today, it was announced that Osama bin Laden, leader of al-Qaida, was killed.  I can imagine that most of you remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard the news. The completion of a mission that started nearly a decade earlier.

Navy SEALs were leading the mission into Pakistan, to find and eliminate bin Laden, without being detected by his supporters, until they were out of harms way. Despite equipment problems, the mission was completed, without loss of U.S. forces.

Certainly, al-Qaida still exists, and threats from this group and others are real. So today, I offer up my gratitude to our Military - all of the men and women who help keep us safe and keep life for most of us,  "normal."
