Missouri’s Most Beautiful Building is 110 Years Old & ‘Heavenly’

This is the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. The plans for this historic place began in the early 1900's and ground was broken in 1907 with a cornerstone being put in place on October 18, 1908 according to the official website. It's signature is now one that is always associated with that part of the St. Louis area.

The first marriage happened within these hallowed walls in 1914 and many more since. The building continues to evolve as The Sacred Heart of Jesus Shrine was added in 2007.
