Fox 2 St. Louis shared the story of how Missouri is directly involved with the Artemis moon mission just launched this week by NASA. They shared that the batteries in the rocket boosters for Artemis come from EaglePicher, a Missouri company.

The official EaglePicher company website tells the full story of how they are "one of NASA's most trusted battery suppliers". The shared that their batteries made in Missouri have powered satellites and rockets and they haven't had a single failure. They have even powered the Mars rovers. Incredible.

The Artemis moon mission has a live camera that follows the rocket's orbit of our planetary companion that you can check in on 24/7.

It's a potentially historic effort in future missions for the Artemis program as NASA states it "will land the first woman and first person of color on the Moon, using innovative technologies to explore more of the lunar surface than ever before." And, it's at least partially powered by Missouri in a battery kind of way. Show Me space flight.
