Best Private Dining in Missouri Named after Jesse James Assassin?

I thought I knew everything there was to know about two things: Jesse James and food. I'm apparently wrong about both of those things as there's a claim that the best private dining in Missouri is at a place named after Jesse James assassin. Time to do some Missouri history homework.

I'll start by saying that Restaurant Clicks probably isn't wrong about the best private dining being at a St. Louis restaurant. I am gonna question one thing they said which has been troubling me though.

What is the St. Louis restaurant that Restaurant Clicks claims is the best private dining in Missouri?

Answer - Charlie Gitto’s On the Hill

Here's the statement I have issues with. Restaurant Clicks says "Charlie Gitto’s name is famous: He’s the man who killed Jesse James". Um, no he's not. Last time I checked, Bob Ford was the coward (yes, my word) that killed Jesse James.

Charlie Gitto is the name of the real man who opened the real St. Louis, Missouri restaurant on the Hill.

I'm trying to figure out what Restaurant Clicks is thinking with this Jesse James comment. Could they be thinking of Charlie Ford who was the brother of Bob?

Here's my advice to the internet regarding food claims. Stick to food and stay away from Wild West references you aren't sure about. Making a not true Jesse James connection is not gonna make me want to eat Italian food on the Hill although I hear Charlie Gitto's is an epic place.
