Illinois Residents Spot Strange Rotating Metal Object

I'm no aeronautical expert, but I'm fairly certain that there are no known planes that are shaped like a cigar and spin in place. That's exactly what 6 eyewitnesses have reported that they just saw in Illinois recently.

The National UFO Reporting Center says this close encounter of the Illinois kind happened August 23, 2026 near the town of Shirley

So I don't misrepresent or unintentionally sensationalize what this group in a car saw, here are the exact words of their eyewitness testimony they shared with the NUFORC:

"This cigar shaped cylinder-like silver/metallic object was floating above a field and rotating in a strange pattern. It had no wings...we were driving Northbound on I55 North and approaching mile marker 150...we looked out of the car to our left over a field and this cylinder/cigar shaped metallic object was rotating in the sky. Not spinning and definitely not a drone. It looked maybe half the size of a small 1 engine plane. It rotated almost like it was teetering from one side higher and then the other side would go up and rotate a bit. It was unusual and the 6 passengers all questioned what we were looking at off to our left as we drove by."

There many important details to mention. First, this apparently did not happen at night, but was in the middle of the afternoon around 2:30pm according to the NUFORC report. If you're not familiar with Shirley, Illinois, it's located to the southwest of Bloomington and not near any major airports.

I don't have a rational explanation of what these 6 Illinois people witnessed. I'm not saying it's E.T. trying to phone home in the Land of Lincoln, but you really need to ask yourself what the intentions are of anything or anyone in a craft that defies conventional concepts.
