If you have a special place in your heart for the era of drive-in movie theaters, you're gonna love this. There is a drive-in theater in Missouri that was abandoned years ago with nature taking over the grounds that is now reborn again and thriving.

I came across a neat and short video shared a few years ago by Streets Shall Provide on YouTube. It was a visit to an abandoned drive-in theater just outside of Piedmont, Missouri that, at the time of their visit, sat empty. Normally, a venue like this with dated tech would just continue decaying, but this drive-in theater has a happy ending.

Now for the good news...

I noticed in the comments on the YouTube video that someone mentioned the Pine Hill Drive-In had been reopened a couple years ago and it's true! It gets better. They're not just showing old movies either, but also new ones as this Facebook share mentioned a few weeks ago. While this was promoting their last movies of the summer season, they did mention they have a special event coming up in October.

I love stories of underdogs that overcome great challenges and achieve victory. For a small town Missouri drive-in to find a way to be reborn and surviving and thriving is really something. Let's hope this is just the first of many drive-in theaters in Missouri that make a comeback. Let's support them!
