He's a St. Louis legend and not only for what he accomplished on a baseball field for the Cardinals. David Freese recently returned to his hometown for a different reason. He faced down a burger that was named after him and promptly consumed it in a matter of minutes. Legend.

Mac's Local Eats in St. Louis created a 23-patty hamburger called (appropriately enough) the Freeseburger. Get it? David's number when he was a St. Louis Cardinal was 23 and 23 burger patties. Genius. Well, the burger met its namesake a few days ago when David not only ordered one, but then downed it in 15 minutes.

"I just really love your burgers, Mac". That is so David Freese. As a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, I really loved what David Freese did for his hometown team especially that cold October night back in 2011. Yes, an excuse for us all to relieve Game 6 all over again.

David was in the news for a different reason recently when he was elected by the fans to the St. Louis Cardinals baseball Hall of Fame.

It wasn't long after that after he politely declined the honor due to the fact that he didn't feel like he had accomplished enough to earn one of those coveted red jackets. That is so David Freese. I don't think I've ever seen a more down-to-Earth dude that truly lives and breathes St. Louis like David does. I personally think he should be in the Hall of Fame as there was nothing quite like the comeback he led in the 2011 World Series that made the Cardinals champions again.

Congrats on the nice career, David, and that epic downing of a 23-patty hamburger with your name on it.
