The Kentucky Headhunters will headline the night at the NEMO Old Threshers on Saturday, September 13.

The show begins at 8:00 p.m. at the Shelby County Fairgrounds in Shelbina, Missouri.

As a big Kentucky Headhunters fan from the late 1980's and early 1990's, I was thrilled to get the chance to talk to Doug Phelps, lead vocalist and bass player for the band. Doug and I actually spent the last few weeks corresponding with each other via e-mail, discussing their music and how it influenced me in my early days of working in radio. I started my broadcasting career about the same time as the band's award winning 'Pickin On Nashville' album came out. Twenty-five years later, we're both still going.

Doug gave us some interesting insight on how Kentucky Headhunters songs and the bands unique style and attitude came about. Have a listen...
