In Honor of National Cheeseburger Day: Rodney Hart of The Cheeseburgers [Interview]
National Cheeseburger Day is Friday, September 18. Here in the Tri-State area we have several places that serve great cheeseburgers, and a band called The Cheeseburgers that serves great times and great music. We thought we'd combine the two for a special interview with singer and guitar player Rodney Hart.
Rodney Hart took a few minutes to answer some of our most pressing questions about cheeseburgers... and The Cheeseburgers. Here's what Rodney had to say... hot off the grill:
Rodney, how do you like your cheeseburger cooked?
Medium. You can't under cook it, but don't scorch the darn thing to death, either. And I'm just talking about the buns.
What are your favorite toppings?
Mushrooms, blue cheese and a cowbell medley always go well with Cheeseburgers.
Should buns have seeds or no seeds?
No seeds. Then they stick to your hands and you get them all over your guitar. HATE when that happens.
What's the most cheeseburgers you've ever eaten in one sitting?
Five. Urp.
Do you believe National Cheeseburger Day should be a Federal holiday?
Of course! I believe it should replace Tax Return Day. And any holiday named after explorers or Presidents.
Now with that out of the way, tell us about the band and it's members.
We are a classic rock band that plays a little bit of country, blues and other fun party music. The Cheeseburgers are Kirk Gribler on drums, guitarist Tim Lawless, bass player Don Van Dyke (though Justin Sievert fills in on bass this weekend), Stacy Taylor on keyboards and vocals, and Rodney Hart on guitar, vocals, puns and buns.
How do you pick the songs you perform?
Simple. It's gotta be Cheesey and it's gotta be fun.
Do you have any shows coming up?
Saturday night (September 19) we are at Pops in Hannibal from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and the following week we are at the 104 Grill in lovely Meredosia. Let's Git Cheesey!
Thanks Rodney!
