World’s Largest Pumpkin Festival Returns to Illinois This Fall
The largest pumpkin festival in the world is back for its 59th year—and this year’s theme says it all: The Pumpkin Party of the Century.
World’s Largest Pumpkin Festival Returns to Illinois This Fall
The celebration kicks off in Morton, Illinois, from September 10 to 13 and will be packed with events all weekend long. Enjoy carnival rides, live music, everything pumpkin-themed (from food to fun), and so much more.
Why Morton Is the Pumpkin Capital of the World
Morton proudly holds the title of “Pumpkin Capital of the World” thanks to the Nestlé/Libby’s plant, which produces an incredible 85% of the world’s canned pumpkin. This festival not only celebrates everything pumpkin, but it also serves as a major fundraiser for the community. Proceeds help support local programs and initiatives.

The kick-off of the opening ceremony starts on August 15th with a treasure hunt with clues given out leading up to opening day. The clues will be posted on our socials, website, and the door of the Morton Chamber of Commerce office at 5 PM on August 15th, 22nd, 29th, and September 5th.

As we inch closer and closer to fall, I know many of us are looking forward to pumpkin spice lattes, oversized sweaters, football, and those gorgeous autumn colors. Or is that just me? I’m more than ready for cooler temps and everything that comes with them, because once fall wraps up, my favorite season and holiday are just around the corner.
