
How Does Quincy High Rank Against Other Illinois Schools?
US News and World Report released a comprehensive listing of elementary, middle and high school rankings for public and private schools, both nationally and within each state. So how did Quincy and Adams County, Illinois, public schools perform?
Adams County Illinois
The formula for scoring each school is based upon: College Readiness (30%), College Curriculum Breadth (10%), State Assessment Proficiency (20%), State Assessment Performance (20%), Underserved Student Performance (10%), and Graduation Rate (10%)

Quincy High School ranked #221 in the state of Illinois. That doesn’t sound great, but that is #221 of #679. That puts QHS in the top third in Illinois. Quincy High's graduation rate is 78% and its college-readiness score for students is 12.6.
Camp Point Central ranked #305 in Illinois (in the top half), with a graduation rate of 84%, and a college-readiness score had no data available.
Unity High (Mendon) came in at #415 in Illinois, putting it in the bottom half of high schools in Illinois -- yet had a graduation rate of 95%. The college-readiness score for Unity also had no data available.

Payson and Liberty were listed together with the Illinois schools ranked from #423-679. Payson’s graduation rate was 82%, while Liberty’s was a perfect 100%.
Expanding out there were regional high schools that scored better than QHS. In Illinois, Macomb ranked #155 with a graduation rate of 86% and a college-readiness score of 19.5, and Brown County High fared even better, with a state ranking of #142, a 98% graduation rate and a college-readiness score of 32.7.
