If you want to work from home move to this city in Illinois
A city in Illinois was ranked the 2nd best city in the whole of the United States for cities to work remotely, It's not Chicago, and I would have never guessed this city would receive this honor.
Naperville, Illinois was just named the second-best city in the country to work remotely in 2022 according to Lawnstarter.com. According to the list from Lawn Starter, the cities were ranked on a number of different factors including, job opportunity, earning potential, workspace, connectivity, costs, safety, and convenience, of these factors Naperville (which if you don't know is a popular western suburb of Chicago, and currently the 4th most populated city in Illinois according to wikipedia.org) ranks number 1 in the country for safety on their scale, and scores really high in the workspace, earning potential, and convenience categories, BUT Naperville ranks poorly in costs, and connectivity. Naperville is second behind Frisco, Texas, and just ahead of Dallas, Texas, Arlington, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia. Chicago is not too far behind Naperville, it ranks very high at 14th on the list!
I got to be honest I was pretty shocked when I saw Naperville that high on the list, NOT because Naperville is a bad place, on the contrary, it is a very nice place to live, but because of the costs in Illinois, I figured no Illinois city would be near the top. But if you are working from home then you don't have to worry too much about the high Illinois gas prices, so maybe that really factored in. Would you move to a different city if you got a chance to just work from home full time?
