This past weekend, the National Association of Letter Carriers and The United Way of Adams County partnered for the 25th Annual “Stamp Out Hunger” National Food Drive. Letter carriers asked for donations of non-perishable items in a bag by your mailbox and were delivered to 12 different local pantries.

Once all the food was counted and delivered, we found that in just our area alone, 23,900 pounds, almost 12 tons, of food was donated. Congratulations Quincyans and surrounding areas for really stepping up and helping out your neighbors, because all the donations stay local.

I stand and give you all a well deserved round of applause.
