The Quincy Salvation Army, WGEM, and HyVee have partnered together to collect nonperishable food items and monetary donations to assist The Salvation Army food pantries in Quincy, Keokuk, Fort Madison, and Macomb during the 33rd Annual WGEM Fall Harvest Food Drive. Fall Harvest collection runs through the month of October.
”This has been a difficult year for many families," said Salvation Army Area Coordinator Captain Michael Sjogren. "We want to ensure that our pantry is fully stocked for the coming winter months in order to meet the increasing need in our community. Whether you are able to give a can of soup, a monetary donation, or host a food drive at your place of work or your place of worship, rest assured that your donation stays at your local Salvation Army and feeds families in need in your community.”

HyVee will offer Fuel Saver Rewards to shoppers who make $5 and $10 donations. Each checkout counter will also have a donation jar for those who would like to make donations under $5. A Food Blitz will take place October 9 and 10 at the Harrison HyVee and Broadway HyVee in Quincy. A second Blitz will happen on October 23 and 24. For more information about Fall Harvest, please contact Assistant Development Director Matt Schmidt at 217- 231-5694.
