Niche.com has released their yearly list of "Best Schools" in the country. In their A-F grading system, the website collects data and reviews from students and parents using information from the U.S. Department of Education.

Some of the measured categories include academics, teachers, diversity, and clubs & activities. So what are the top eight elementary schools in Quincy according to Niche?

  1. Ellington Elementary School: B
  2. Madison School: B-
  3. Monroe School (now Lincoln-Douglas ): B-
  4. Baldwin Intermediate School: B-
  5. Dewey Elementary School: B-
  6. Washington Elementary: C+
  7. Berrian School: C
  8. Adams Elementary School: C

Overall, Quincy School District No. 172 received a B- grading. They are #74 out of 407 for Most Diverse School Districts in Illinois; #117 of 405 for Safest School Districts in Illinois; and #153 of 404 for Districts with the best teachers in Illinois. With the new elementary schools being built within the few years, it wouldn't surprise me to see our ratings go up in the years to come.
