Welcome to Mexico, Mo.

Mexico will depend on controlling the ball on offense as they are a run dominant team, only throwing the ball on average once per quarter. The Bulldogs rely on a troika of seniors in quarterback Charlie Fisher, with running backs Drew Demint and Korbyn Dorsey. Between the three of them, the Bulldogs are averaging over 300 yards per game rushing. When you have that level of success on the ground you don’t need to throw the ball. Should Fisher put the ball in the air, he’ll be looking for Demint and Dorsey, as well as 6’4” senior Kaden Benne. The Pirates' goal will be to stuff the gaps and put Mexico in passing situations.

On offense the Pirates will turn to Kade Hoskins along with Darrion Washington, Landyn Essig and Wyeth Dorsey leading the way. While the offense will score, the question is: can it keep up the pace it’s set for itself so far this season. Hannibal has scored over 50 points the last three games, and traditionally scores over 40 against Mexico.

If Hannibal puts up over 40 points versus Mexico the victory should follow. A solid matchup awaits in Mexico, Friday night. Pregame is at 6:30 p.m. with the kickoff at 7 p.m. on 97.9 KICK-FM
