Enchanting Missouri Town Named the Best for Main Street Shopping
I love shopping locally and being able to support local business owners in their dreams. One downtown Main Street shopping area stands out above all others.
Let me start by saying it's not Hannibal, but I love shopping downtown Hannibal. I try and get there at least once a month to see what's new in the shops. You never know what you will find. However, one main shopping area was just named one of the best in the nation.
Parkville, Missouri
Cheapism named the town downtown shopping areas in every state and said Parkville is the top spot to go in Missouri. Each of the towns on this list has fewer than 10,000 people in it.
Parkville's historic downtown is known for its wide variety of stores and merchants, including antiques, art, home decor, and boutiques. There is also an eclectic mix of eateries, restaurants, and snack shops in this traditional small town of about 7,200.
Sounds pretty amazing to me and as much as I am in Kansas City (Parkville is located just outside of the metro area) I may have to take a trip and check out Parkville. There is just something about shopping local and supporting the business, the employees, and the town. It's such a good feeling.
Parkville, Missouri is just outside of the metro areas of Kansas City and as of 2020 has about 7,177 people living in the town. The city is home to Park University, English Landing Park, Platte Landing Park, and the National Golf Club of Kansas City.
Don't get me wrong I enjoy going to big box stores and malls, but the quaint small business just is a different experience when you're looking for a cute outfit or perfect gift for someone.
