Quincy will have a "Drive Thru" Farmers Market this weekend.

Across the Mississippi river in Hannibal, Missouri this weekend they will be hosting their season's first farmers market, it will feel like a normal farmers market experience only with some added social distancing, you can find out all about it by clicking here! Meanwhile as Illinois continues it's "stay at home" order from Governor Pritzker due to the Coronavirus, the Quincy Farmer's Market will look quite different.

The Quincy Farmer's Market will have it's opening day this Saturday, May 9th from 8 am to 1 pm, located as always inside of historic Washington Park in downtown Quincy. But with the social distancing rules, and no gatherings of more then 10 people allowed, the Quincy Farmer's Market will be a "drive thru" market this weekend. On the Facebook page for the Quincy Farmer's Market they said they will announce more details as they come available.  But customers will be able to pick up items curbside, like they would if they were ordering from their favorite restaurant.

Obviously this will be really interesting to see how it plays out. My dog Murphy and I loved walking around the Quincy Farmer's Market all last year during our first year living in Quincy, and I am certainly looking forward to doing that again ASAP. For now though I'm glad they have come up with some sort of plan to host the market anyways so all the of the farmers and small businesses who rely on selling in the farmer's market to make money.
