The Tri-State area is going to be under a heat advisory throughout the weekend, and for those residents that need relief, there are cooling centers available to help you beat the heat.

The Kroc Center will offer a cooling center Monday - Friday from 8 am - 9 pm, Saturday from 8 am - 7 pm, and Sunday 9 am - 5 pm. The Adams County Department of Human Services (300 Maine St, 2nd Floor Suite 2) will have their cooling hours 8 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday.

The Hannibal Salvation Army will be opened for their cooling center Monday - Saturday from 10 am - 6 pm. If you have to take advantage of these cooling centers as the heat index is expected to reach 105 the next couple of days.

Check on your neighbors (especially the elderly) to make sure they are doing OK, don't keep dogs or any pets outside for too long (unless they have shade and plenty of water). And if you work outside, try and wear light colored clothing and drink plenty of water.
