Solar Eclipse Day is here and everyone has eclipse fever. But if you plan to take photos of the eclipse, here are a few things you should know:

The ultimate selfie opportunity is happening today and as many of you know, you must wear protective glasses to view the eclipse. If you were planning to use your phone to take pictures, you should be okay as long as you are protecting your eyes.

If you have an Apple iPhone, Apple says taking pictures of the eclipse will not damage your phone. However, experts say you sill should wear glasses if you plan to take pictures through your phone. According to an article published in the Chicago Tribune, cameras on any phone are much smaller then a normal camera, and while photos might not come out as well as you'd hoped, you likely won't damage the camera itself.

There are several viewing parties going on today including the one at Clat Adams Park.
