Country Legends and Newcomers to Team Up for ‘ACM Presents: Superstar Duets’
The runup to the 2015 ACM Awards will feature a plethora of musical acts, including special duets in which country legends will team up with modern acts for unforgettable performances. According to Country Aircheck Weekly, the star-studded performances will be part of ACM Presents: Superstar Duets, a two-hour special that will air May 15 on CBS.
The event will be filmed on April 17-18 at the Globe Life Park baseball stadium during the ACM Party for a Cause festival, which will be part of the ACM Awards weekend celebration. Filming the event on Friday and Saturday will prevent the performers from being forced to stay for an extended period of time. “It’s better for the artists, as most of them are coming in on Thursday anyway and they won’t have to stay for Monday night,” says ACM CEO Bob Romeo.
Never ones to do things halfheartedly, the folks behind the ACM Awards are planning special performances from some of country music's biggest names. Romeo promises that the special will focus on "pairings you've never seen before," including Dwight Yoakam with Sam Hunt, Miranda Lambert with Patty Loveless, Keith Urban with John Anderson and the Band Perry with Deana Carter. Country fans of all ages are sure to be delighted by the mesmerizing performances.
The 50th annual ACM Awards will take place on April 19 in Arlington, Texas. This year's ceremony is expected to be the biggest yet. Over 70,000 tickets have been sold for the awards show.
