This year's 2014 Veteran's Day Parade in Quincy will be held on Saturday, November 8. The Veteran's Parade Committee, led by Chairman Dick McKinney, works all year long on organizing this wonderful event. One of the toughest things to secure for an event like this is a "flyover" of a military aircraft.

A flyover takes tons of paperwork, and that paperwork needs to go through several different hands in the chain of command to get approval. The committee contacted Colonel Bob Moore of the Commemorative Air Force about doing a flyover of the parade featuring a B-25 Bomber aircraft, which he has agreed to do on November 8.

Also on that date, the B-25 will be taking veterans and other people on flights around the area. The cost for a flight would be $395 per person, and the parade committee is hoping if enough people sign up to take a ride it will cover the cost of the parade flyover, as well. To sign up for a ride in November, call Dick McKinney at 430-2912.

If you would like to see the B-25 up close, you will get your chance as it will flyover the Quincy Regional Airport this Friday, August 8 at 10:30 a.m. on its way to an airshow in Davenport, Iowa.
