I remember a a tiny wee one (okay no short jokes) we would go apple picking at these massive apple orchards in New York. It was one of my favorite things to do each fall. Now I get to continue that tradition with my girls.

Edwards Apple Orchard

Located close to Rockford, Edwards has everything from apple picking to bakery goods, fresh apple butter, and activities for the family. It just opened a few weeks ago and I am sure as the fall temps change this will be the perfect weekend spot to visit for a fun day at an orchard.

Edgewood Orchards

Our very own, delicious, outstanding orchard to visit, Now you may not be able to pick your own apple, but the sludhies and apple cider make up for that. Located in Quincy from baked goods to different apples to choose from this is a true Quincy tradition each fall to visit Edgewood.

Rendleman Orchard

If you want to travel, but not go too far then try Rendleman Orchard. Just south of East St. Louis and open since 1873, they have more than just apples. The orchard also has freshly picked peaches and nectarines. This orchard is massive with pumpkin patches yellow sunflower field, a strawberry patch, and more You will definitely not be bored at this orchard

Heinze Orchard

Just North of Chicago this is the closest orchard to Chicagoland, So if you find yourself in the big city but want to breakaway check out Heinze Orchard. Just simply a place to go apple picking with the family. No big hayrides or petting zoos just a beautiful orchard to relax and spend the day picking apples. This is my kind of place.

Honey Hill Orchard

A barn converted into a one-stop shop for everything apple. They have plenty of activities for kids and parents can enjoy buying all of the baked goods, honey, caramel apples, and more you can handle. Located in Waterman Illinois this is one place you want to put on your fall bucket list.
