Over the weekend, I attended a family reunion. It was a reunion of my wife's family, and honestly, there were many folks there that I had never met before.

It's kind of odd to me, that people will sit down and have a meal together, and not be all that familiar with each other, except to know that you're related to each.

It had been many years since the last family reunion was held, so there were plenty of new branches of the family tree. It was a pleasant meeting, and I left knowing a great deal more about her family members and connections.

I heard someone mention, that when they were younger, family reunions seemed to be "a bunch of  old people, sitting around and talking." They went on to say that now, they're those same folks, sitting and chatting about family.

It's been a few years since I attended a family reunion. Tell us if you have a get-together planned.
