Congrats to Davenport, Iowa for being named one of the 10 Prettiest River Towns in America according to worldatlas.com. Davenport is on the list with cities like Bend, Oregon, Boise, Idaho, Macon Georgia, and Missoula, Montana, and Davenport is the only city on the list that is on the Mississippi River. What about Davenport makes it a pretty river town? On the site they say...

"Davenport features an unmistakably prominent sense of history. Home to the Sauk and Mesquakie Indians early in the 19th century, it was acquired by Antoine LeClaire, who, upon the signage of the treaty ending the Black Hawk War in 1832, sold the town to the Colonel George Davenport’s fur trading company. A setting for remarkable events, in 1856, Davenport also opened the first railroad bridge that span the Mississippi River for river and rail opportunities that boomed the town’s status as a trading centre."

I am honestly surprised that no other cities that border the Mississippi River made the list, but you do forget how many rivers there are in the US, and how many cities you could have put on this list.
