I'm not normally a big fan of "This Day in History" blogs.  Everyone knows that July 4th is a special day.  And, most are also probably aware of all the gift-giving that happens on December 25th.  What about June 5th?  Sure, something important happened today.  As it turns out, not so much.

To be fair, there are some events worth noting that occurred on June 5th many moons ago according to Wikipedia:

  • In 1915, Denmark gave women the right to vote
  • Krakow, Poland became a city
  • The 6-Day War began in Israel
  • The Apple II went on sale (one of the first personal computers)
  • Ronald Reagan died on this day in 2004.

What about here locally?  Please tell me that you have had something special happen to you on June 5th.  If so, leave us a note in the comments below.  I'd hate to think that little ole June 5th was gonna end up being remembered as a big day in Poland.
