According to an article from ozarkfirst.com, Trout Fishing season kicks off Friday, March 1st, and people across the Show-Me State are ready to hit the water! In the article, they say...

"Missouri’s catch-and-keep trout fishing season officially starts tomorrow at 6:30 a.m. On March 1, anglers can head to one of the state’s three trout parks to purchase permits and trout tags before casting their lines. The parks’ stores will be open for permits and trout tags"

The article goes on to mention that the parks that will be open on March 1st are Roaring River State Park in Cassville, Montauk State Park in Salem, and Bennett Spring State Park in Lebanon. They also mention that you need to know the daily limit is 4 trout, you have to purchase a trout tag and have your fishing permit, and to use the hashtag #MoTroutSeason2024 when posting on social media! This si a really exciting time for trout fishers throughout the state, and if you are someone who is looking to start trout fishing PLEASE know all the rules, have all the proper permits, and don't go over the daily limit. If you follow all the rules from the Missouri Department of Conservation you will have a great time, and allow everyone else to enjoy this special fishing season in the state as well.
