Is It Time to OFFICIALLY Malort Illinois???
The state of Illinois has many “Official” symbols. The white tailed deer is the official state animal. The bluegill is the official state fish. Each state is different in what they recognize. In Illinois we have a pretty beefy list of “Official” state symbols. We have a state dance, flower, Insect, Pie, Snake..?? (true). The list is long. What we don’t have is an official state liquor, yet.
Within the last couple months the state has asked we the citizens to redesign the state flag (un-officially), and as of August there is as of now an official state fungus (seriously). The giant puffball is now the state fungus.
It’s time Illinois to cement Malort as the official liquor of the “Land of Lincoln”. The historically Chicago centered liquor has become a touchstone of windy city bars and has now expanded in all directions of Illinois and to most every state in the union.

There are still plenty of Illinoisans who haven’t sampled the unique flavor of Malort, but if it were the “official” liquor of the state perhaps then there could be Malort fests where mixologists would share recipes and inventive uses for Malort, Maybe even “Malort face” could be the official face of Illinois.
This somehow hasn't happened yet. Let the conversation begin now. It's time Illinois....
