A number of theatrical options are on the area events calendar this weekend.

The Quincy Community Theater's production of the classic, "Les Miserables," runs through Sunday, July 20, and again July 24-27.

Maples Repertory Theatre in Macon is in the midst of performing the musical, "Big River." The Hannibal Arts Council has a limited number of tickets for the 2 p.m. performance in Macon Saturday. Contact the Arts Council for more information.

The Bluff City Theater's production of, "Tales of an Urban Indian," continues aboard a moving transit bus through August 10. The Hannibal Arts Council has purchased the entire 7:30 p.m. Saturday performance. You can also contact HAC about tickets for that production.

The Dark River Derby Coalition of Quincy performs Saturday at 7 p.m. at Scottie's Fun Spot. A portion of the proceeds of their match with the Midstate Mayhem will be donated to the Quincy Neighborhood Foundation.

There's a book signing and meet the author event at the Mark Twain Museum Saturday. Featured will be Jennifer Hawes and her mystery/thriller "Free Runner."
