Missouri City Lands on Most Obese City List for 2025
The concerned people at WalletHub..(???) compiled a list of the most obese cities in the country. Seems the pattern is that the south is fatter.

In the “Plump 30” (my words not WalletHub’s) you have to get to #21 before you get to a northern city. It’s Canton, Ohio. Akron, Dayton and Youngstown all made the Top Heavy 30 (again my words not WalletHub’s)
WalletHub ranked all the cities into three categories: Obesity and Overweight population, Health Consequences, and Food Fitness. The numbers, added together, provide a total fatness score.
In Missouri, Kansas City finished the biggest with a 72.66 overall score. The KC insights show a 44th obesity ranking, a Consequences ranking of 65th that doesn’t match its obesity number, and a Food fitness score of 37 that points toward decadent cuisine. KC finished 45th overall.
St. Louis landed at number 47 for obesity, while scoring 74 for Consequences, with a Food fitness number of 78 for an overall score of 69.73 to come in 67th place.
No other Missouri cities were included in the top 100 rankings for obesity in the USA.
Do you think Springfield, Columbia or St. Joseph or Joplin are more obese than St. Louis or Kansas City?
