The Award for the Best Ice Cream in Missouri goes to…
Spring is here and warmer weather means...ICE CREAM! And if you are looking for the best ice cream in the Show-Me State we have what you are looking for.
Congrats to Dairy Shack in Eminence, Missouri for winning the 2023 Missouri's Best Ice Cream Award! If you are anything like me you just read that sentence and immediately said "where is Eminence, Missouri?" well, Eminence is a small town of 515 people according to Wikipedia, and it is located in Shannon County. To give you a better idea it is in the southern part of the state directly between Cape Girardeau and Springfield.
So what about Dair Shack makes it the best Ice Cream in the Show-Me State? Well, on their website they have a full list of their sweet treat items that include things like the Snappin' Turtle Sundae, the Cobbler with Ice Cream, the Banana Split, the Brownie Sundae, and of course Waffle cones, regular cones, pints, shakes, floats, and something called the Avalanche. On the site, they say this about the Avalanch...
"An Avalanche is soft serve ice cream blended up with the topping(s) of your choice. Most know these as blizzards or blasts... but ours are MUCH better!"
The Dairy Shack has been around since 1968, and the menu also includes food items like burgers, fries, and sandwiches as well. I will say this, I have never heard of Eminence, Missouri let alone been there, but if I ever find myself driving near this tiny town of 500 people, you better believe I am stopping for a snack at The Dairy Shack!
