The 2019 ACM Winners… In My Opinion

The ACM Awards will take place this Sunday, April 7th on CBS at 7pm cst. For a full list of the nominees click here. There are tons of artists nominated and even more artists slated to preform at this massive show, hosted by the one and only Reba McEntire. I am only focusing on the three big awards Male artist of the Year, Female artist of the Year, and Entertainer of the year. I have a pretty good idea of who should win and why, lets see if you agree with me.

Male Artist of the Year

The nominees for this category are Dierks Bentley, Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton, and Keith Urban. Stapleton was the winner of this award last year, and is my personal favorite out of the bunch. But this is Luke Combs year, he has been dominating the country charts. As I write this blog his song "Beautiful Crazy" is the number 1 country song on the Billboard Top Country Songs and has been there for six straight weeks.  I would be absolutely stunned if Combs walks away without this trophy to add to his case.

Female Artist of the Year

The nominees for this category are Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves, and Carrie Underwood. Personally my favorite artist in this group is Kacey Musgraves and I do believe she deserves to win this award. Her album "Golden Hour" carried her to a massive win at the 2019 Grammy Awards for overall album of the year, and best country album as well as best country solo performance.

My Pick: Kacey Musgraves

Entertainer of the Year 

The nominees are Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Chris Stapleton, and Keith Urban. Jason Aldean is the defending champion in this category, and he is being honored with ACM Artist of the Decade award. Now all of that being said Urban and Stapleton have never won this award and I believe it's going to be Stapleton who dethrones Aldean.
