Mark Twain Lake

It's the summertime, and it's a great time of year to be a car enthusiast! There's pretty much a car show or car cruise within driving distance every weekend. This year's Cruise Night in Perry, Missouri is scheduled for August 17.

It's a tri-state area tradition and one of the biggest and best rodeo's you'll find.

There's not really gonna be a food fight at the United Way of the Mark Twain Area's 2012/2013 Kickoff Campaign event, but it gave me an excuse to use the old Animal House movie phrase and I haven't had that excuse for a long time.  While I'm guessing my food fight hopes won't materialize, the 7th annual Taste Of Missouri will happen Thursday, September 6th at the Quality Inn and Suites in Hannibal

The 26th annual Mark Twain Lake Rodeo, sponsored in part by KICK-FM, is scheduled for June 29th &30th and July 1st.

When I was a kid, my favorite place to enjoy the outdoors was Camp Oki-tipi near Saverton.  These days, a lot of folks either head out to Mark Twain Lake or near Wyaconda.  With summer almost upon us, what are your favorite camping spots around the area?  Feel free to add your own spot to our poll!
