Joplin

It's been 11 years now, but it still seems like yesterday. It was the afternoon of May 22, 2011 when a monster EF5 tornado cut a tragic swath through Joplin, Missouri and there are many that will never forget that day.

It began when native Americans saw the light in the early 1800's and continues to this day. It's a Missouri road that has been haunted by what locals call the "Spook Light" and there's no explanation for the phenomenon that is still visible now.

It's funny what some people consider a "vacation". For some, that apparently includes visiting a haunted Missouri cemetery where there's a decent chance you'll leave with scratches and scars from the experience.

I've found one of the fanciest estates I've ever seen in Missouri and it's not even near St. Louis or Lake of the Ozarks. No, this drop-dead gorgeous estate that just breathes luxury is found in Joplin and I've got the pics to prove it.

When it opened in the 1990's, it was an exciting place to see up-and-coming racers in Missouri. But, since it closed more than 18 years ago, there's practically nothing left of this speedway.

They could tell by the shape of the building that if this place showed movies, it likely didn't show just any type of videos. Explorers found what appears to be an abandoned 'adult' movie theater buried deep in the woods of Missouri.
