One of the many things you gotta love about this place we call America's Hometown is that, yes, we have our marquee celebrations throughout the year, from the Chocolate Extravaganza in March to the Folk Life Festival in October.
A nearly half-century downtown Hannibal dining tradition is coming to an end. In a Facebook post last week, the announcement came that Ole Planters Restaurant would be closing for good November 30.
Over the weekend while I was at Twain on Main, I was not only taken back by all of the people who showed up, but also reminded on how lucky we are to have Hannibal in the Tri-States.

Summer is unofficially here, and one of my family’s favorite things to do is eat ice cream. One ice cream shoppe in Hannibal made the list of must stop shoppes in Missouri.
What I love most about our community is that when there is a need, businesses step in to help in any way that they can. Landmark Inc. in Quincy has done just that, and you get some pretty cool t-shirts too.
