Dogwood parade

After the 2015 Dogwood Festival Parade, I was a part of the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce clean-up crew. There were numerous crews working on Maine Street that day, consisting of members of the Chamber plus student volunteers. Each of them did a wonderful job of bringing Maine Street back to normal.

The recent Dogwood Festival parade has me asking: how is littering still a thing?

Another Dogwood Festival is in the history books. We hope everyone had a great weekend, and had a great time at the parade and the festival, despite the slight rain delay for live music on Saturday night.

The Annual Dogwood Festival is this weekend in the City of Quincy. Today's "5 Questions With..." segment features Alta King, Communications Specialist from the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce.

Mother Nature was kind enough to allow the Dogwood Festival parade to be held with just some sprinkles and light rain Saturday.  Unfortunately, all of the Dogwood Block Parties were rained out Friday night. Once the parade concluded the Quincy Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of the float competition.

The Dogwood Festival returns to Quincy Thursday, May 2 through Sunday, May 6. Here is a schedule of events;

It's spring ya know. No, really it is. The calender says so anyway. Never mind that mother nature seems to still be fighting off a New Years hangover. Hopefully she'll wake up soon and realize the 2013 Dogwood Festival is coming up May 4 and 5. It's not that far away. In fact, if you're going to be in the parade, the deadline for entry is even closer.
