Pointers Pizza Offers Big Challenge And Bigger Rewards

There are plenty of eating challenges out there. Beat any one of them and you could score a commemorative t-shirt, get your pic and name on a wall of fame, or…you could go to Pointer’s Pizza in St. Louis on Big Bend, bring a friend, pound a pie and win money…?!?!?

The Gateway City has many pizza places with delicious pies, but there’s only one that I know of that is so sure you can’t they put money on it. Pointer’s is on Big Bend Blvd. between 64/40 and Clayton Road in Richmond Heights just west of Forest Park.

The Pointersaurus Challenge is a 28 inch pizza with either two meat toppings or four veggie toppings and it weighs in at over ten pounds. Oh – and you and your hungry pal only have an hour to consume this beast. You have to put some cash down before you start, but should you two finish within the sixty minute contest window, Pointers will drop $500 dollars on you.

Enough people have tried this challenge that Pointer’s has a lock on loopholes. You have to have consumed the whole pie. All the crust must be eaten, and a stuffed mouth at the hour mark doesn’t get you $500. You can’t leave the restaurant during the hour, and you can only have (at most) six people in a cheering section -and they can’t come into the competition area-. You hungry enough to eat a hunk of St. Louis, and quickly?
