Have you heard about the St. Charles Chill, the new professional hockey team playing at the Family Arena? I did not know about The Chill until a few weeks ago, and I'm glad I found out about them before the end of their first season. My eight-year-old niece and I attended a game last Saturday. It was a great time, and it was an event I could take her to without draining my bank account.

With the St. Louis Blues having such a terrific season, I've been watching hockey on TV a lot more than I normally would. I've been wanting to take my niece to a game - I've explained to her that hockey is a sport that's much more fun to watch in-person - but tickets to an NHL game can get pricey. Then we found out about the St. Charles Chill, a team that sells tickets for as low as $5.

The game was a blast. My niece loved it. She loved it so much that she wanted to wait in line after the game in order to get autographs, and wanted to go back for the next game scheduled for the following day.

The team only has two more home games scheduled for their inaugural season, which will take place on Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29. If you're looking for something fun (and relatively affordable) to do with your kids, I recommend a St. Charles Chill game. Tickets for upper level seating are only $5. There are also $15 tickets and $20 tickets available if you'd like a little better seats. Parking at the Family Arena is also inexpensive, at just $5.
