Video games are not going anywhere, in fact, they are growing rapidly. What is so different for parents now vs when video games entered the home in the late 1980s/1990s is that you can now make money playing video games. There is streaming, eSports leagues, tournaments, YouTube, and other ways to make lots of money playing video games. So, if you have a kid who is really into playing certain games there are ways to cultivate that talent just as you would if you had a kid who was a great young baseball player.
