Opening night at Quincy Raceways may have been a victim of Mother Nature the first time around, but they will try again Sunday, April 13.

A full season of action is on the schedule for the 40th Anniversary of the Raceways, located on Highway 104, just east of Quincy. Dirt car late models and modifieds and IMCA SportMods, stock cars and sport compacts will all again compete. The popular 'Night of Destruction' will happen Monday, May 26. The full schedule is available online.

The future of the venue was in doubt over the winter until the sale of the track went through to new owners Ciltrak. The company also operates race tracks in Jacksonville and Lincoln, Illinois.

Quincy Raceways tickets for 2014 cost $12 for adults, $9 for senior citizens, $5 for kids ages 11 to 16 and children under 10 will get in free. Race fans will notice that food and beverage prices will be lower this year.
