Quincy Memorial Bridge to Undergo Repairs Starting April 13
Get ready for additional traffic delays when traveling into Quincy starting April 13.
When Do Quincy Bridge Repairs Start?
The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that more repairs will begin on Quincy’s Memorial Bridge on Monday, April 13. What does that mean for you?
How Traffic Will Be Affected
Crews will be reinforcing expansion joints, a project expected to take approximately three months. During that time, traffic will be reduced to a single lane across the bridge. The bridge will remain open, but drivers should expect slower travel.
According to IDOT, “Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips across the bridge. Drivers are urged to pay close attention and obey the posted speed limits.”

Future Plans for Memorial Bridge Replacement
There are also plans to fully replace the Memorial Bridge. The project is included in IDOT’s latest multi-year program as a joint effort with the Missouri Department of Transportation. Construction could begin between 2029 and 2031.
