Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore Will Not Run for Reelection

Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore will not be running for reelection next year.

In a Facebook video Thursday, the Republican two-term incumbent announced he would not be a candidate in next February’s primary.

Moore was first elected 3rd Ward Alderman in 2009. He defeated incumbent Democrat John Spring to become mayor in 2013, and was reelected in 2017.

So far, two candidates have entered the primary – Republican Brandon Koch and Democrat Brennan Hills, a senior at Quincy High School.

The primary is February 23rd, with the municipal election set for April 6th of 2021.
