As the 2018 season at the Quincy Community Theatre winds down, with one final week of Good People, and only the kid's show Witches in October and the Christmas musical Elf remaining, it's time we look to the future. But not too far into the future. Only about three and a half months. 2019's QCT season was just announced! Here's the breakdown.

The Addams Family: A New Musical - Student Edition - February 7th-10th
This will be one of the student productions, based on the characters created by Charles Addams, this follows an adult Wednesday Addams who brings home her fiancé to meet Gomez and Morticia to meet, and obviously creepy and kooky antics ensue.

Phantom - March 22nd-24th, 28th-31st
This is the OTHER Phantom of the Opera musical. And depending on your feelings towards Andrew Lloyd Webber (I'm personally not a fan), the superior, yet lesser known version. I'm more than a little disappointed that it's not a stage adaptation of the 1996 cinema classic Phantom starring Master Thespian Billy Zane.

Apollo: To the Moon - April 29th-June 8th
Another show for students, this will be the QCT touring show, and follows a man named Scott as he pursues his dream to go to the moon by working with NASA on the Apollo missions.

You Can’t Take It With You - May 10th-11th, 16th-19th
This is a fun madcap ensemble comedy about a woman introducing her mild-mannered upper class boyfriend to her eccentric family. Frank Capra turned it into a movie with Jimmy Stewart, Jean Arthur and Lionel Barrymore. I was actually in a production of this in high school, as the Russian Ballet instructor Boris Kolenkhov. I may have to try out for this.

Stuart Little - June 13th-16th
The third student show of the season, based on the novel by EB White and later a movie starring Hugh "Dr. House" Laurie, Stuart Little tells the adventures of a mouse adopted by humans and living in New York

Bye Bye Birdie - July 18th-20th, 25th-28th
The ever popular musical about a rock star saying farewell to a small town fan after he's drafted into the war. This will be the big anchor show of the season.

The Curious Incident of Dog in Night-Time - September 13-15th, 19th-22nd
An compelling mystery about a brilliant teen on the autism spectrum serving as detective investigating the killing of his neighbor's dog. The source novel won numerous literary awards, and the play has won a number of awards in both its native UK and here stateside.

The Boxcar Children - October 24th-27th
The final student show of the season, and based on the first novel of the long running series, the play follows the Alden children as they run away to avoid separate foster homes, setting up a home for themselves in an abandoned box car.

Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!) - November 29th-December 1st, December 5th-8th
It's a wacky revue of all the Christmas stories you know and love, just maybe not quite the way you know and love them.

The Nutcracker - December 20th-22nd
The special presentation of this seasonal favorite returns for it's biennial performance
