
Adams County Stars Named to Illinois All-State Football Teams
The Illinois football playoffs are entering the quarterfinal round this weekend, but All-State honors have been announced. Some local student-athletes in Adams County have been recognized and included with the best high school football players in Illinois for the 2025 season.

Curtis Rigg – Camp Point Central - The senior running back led the 10-1 Panthers in rushing yards (852), and had four 100+ yard rushing games this season too. Rigg also led the Panthers in receiving yards this year with 233. His total yards from scrimmage at 1194 and 15 total touchdowns were both tops on the team this fall. Rigg scores 1A Illinois All-State status.

Todd Smith – Quincy High – The massive senior lineman for the 5-5 Blue Devils anchored the offensive line and made everyone near him look small (even when they weren’t). The 6 foot 6 tackle will be playing next fall for the Lindenwood University Lions. Smith is one of just two offensive linemen named 6A All-State in Illinois this year.

IHSA Football All-State Honorable Mentions for 2025 from around the Adams County area include: Camp Point Central senior offensive tackle Jack Weese, Unity/Payson senior QB/LB Sawyer Allen, and Quincy Notre Dame senior WR/S Gavin Doellman who has committed to play next fall for Western Illinois U.
