The results are in, and half a dozen folks who showed off their pumpkin decorating skills won prizes in Hannibal Parks and Recreation's seventh annual Pumpkins in the Park competition.

The contest was held in Central Park in conjunction with the last day of the 2021 season for the Hannibal Farmer's Market.

The one stipulation was that there was no carving allowed. Otherwise, pumpkins could - and in most cases were - decorated with paint, glitters, markers and, in one case, even candy corn.

Judges were tasked with picking the scariest and most creative creation and the manager of the Farmer's Market even got into the act, handing out a prize for their favorite in both the adult and children's division.

Here are the winners:

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
